The Squish District is a funny shaped, quasi-triangular portion of NW Portland bounded by NW Naito Parkway, NW 19th, NW Thurman and NW Vaughn. The area is literally ‘squished’ between the Willamette River, NW 23rd, The Pearl District and the Guild’s Lake Industrial Sanctuary. The buildings within the district offer a hidden fragment of Portland’s Industrial past, containing a strong sampling of turn of-the-century and mid-century industrial structures. It is a unique place, now filled with artists, to-the-trade designer businesses, heavy industrial manufacturers, a Montessori school, coffee shops, restaurants, nurseries, filmmakers, and iconic Portland Tea Master, Steven Smith.
