Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Skills and Experience: This is a hands-on position. A successful candidate must have at least 3 years experience in property maintenance and / or the building trades, an interest in sustainability, and possess a variety of construction related skills.

In particular, candidate must have experience in electrical and plumbing repair, wall repair, some landscape maintenance, minor appliance repair, seasonal and preventative building maintenance, carpentry (door installation/repair, window repair, cabinet installation/repair, trim and molding installation/repair), painting, cleaning, water heater repair/installation, floor repair/installation, gutter maintenance/repair and other building maintenance items.

Candidate must also have an outstanding personal character, an excellent work ethic and be a team player that is flexible, thorough and able to work independently. Must be extremely well organized and show initiative in starting and following through on projects. Candidate must be physically capable to perform job functions including the ability to reach, bend, work from ladders at various heights, and lift 50 pounds as needed during the work shift.

Basic understanding and proficiency with computers (email, MS Word and Excel).

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance on company-owned residential, commercial and industrial properties including:

  • Facility maintenance and repair
  • Equipment preventative maintenance
  • On-call for occasional emergency repairs
  • Handling resident service requests
  • Preparing vacant units for new tenants
  • Monitoring of energy saving equipment such as solar panels.

 

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High diploma
  • Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record.
  • Fluency in English with strong verbal & writing skills
  • 3 years experience in property maintenance and / or the building trades
  • Salem area resident preferred
